Youth Revival in Mesquite, TX

This week our teens are attending a Youth Revival in Mesquite, TX.  The theme is "Search and Rescue".  The preachers are Dr. Mike Wells, Dr. Larry May, Dr. Jeff Owens, Dr. Allen Domelle and Dr. Bob Gray II.  This Youth Revival is hosted by Parkside Baptist Church which is the home church of Jared and Elyssa.  The preaching has been tremendous and the teens are having a great time!
I snuck a picture with Elyssa after the service tonight.  Tomorrow she has a doctor's appointment at 3 pm. to see whether or not she will be admitted.  Please pray that the Lord gives her doctor wisdom in making that decision.

Patiently waiting.....

Our daughter, Elyssa doesn't have much time until she has Gabriella.  I can't tell you how excited I am!  I find myself day dreaming about her arrival and picturing myself holding her and kissing her little face and imagining her first cry!
Well, Gabriella is teasing us!  We keep having false hopes that she is coming and then she changes her mind!  LOL!
I have been working a lot getting things done at home and my work at church so that when the time comes I can be able to take off for the hospital.
Last December when Danny and David came home for Christmas break, my husband, myself, Andres, Jared and Elyssa went to the airport to pick them up.  We then came to the house and had dinner together.  Well, Jared said he wanted to start off the Christmas holidays with their gift to us.  They gift wrapped a box and had me open it.  Inside was an envelope and they asked me to read it out loud.  I  want to share with you a poem that Jared wrote for our family when he and Elyssa told us the news that we were going to be grandparents.

Christmas Surprise

Christmas is here and all are together
A time we have waited for, a time for excitement
To share in memories that we'll hold to forever
A time to be grateful, a time for enlightenment.

What joys and mysteries, that are revealed
As every package brings new emotions
These joys we hold, never again concealed
Binding and trying all existing devotions

In the mist of all, we bring to remembrance
The good times shared with all its laughter
Times of encouragement and giving of confidence
For goals to reach and ambition to go farther.

Knowing all this, I add to your lives
With hugs and kisses you will adorn
Each time my joy fills your eyes
When the time is come and I am born!

Day 2 of our mini-vacation!

Andres really has an interest in American History!  So when we heard about the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA we knew that we had to take him.  So that's where we went today.  We REALLY enjoyed it!  I would recommend anyone to go if you are ever in that area of California.
Here are a few pictures I'd like to share with you.

Mini Vacationing in California!

Since we were already in California, we decided to take a few extra days as a family and do some sight-seeing and take some time to relax.  Today we went to Los Angeles to the Museum of the Holocaust.  What an impression it left on me and my family!  To know all the things that those people went through and for those that lived through it all the years of horrible memories they will carry till the day they die.
After that we went driving around and did some sight seeing and ended up on a street called "Olvera Street".  They have all kinds of souveniers, hand made leather things and typical things you would buy in Mexico.
We had a good time making memories with our son Andres.  Making good memories is such an important thing we can give our children.  Now that they are getting older we have our times of remineising and it makes me so thankful that the times it was difficult to create a memory I went out of my way anyway to do so!

Happy 32nd Anniversary to Pastor & Mrs. Salazar and Montecito Baptist Church!

We arrived in Ontario, CA Saturday where my husband would be preaching this weekend!  Our son Andres and I got to accompany my husband this time!  Yay! :)
Saturday night my husband preached at their worker's banquet there at the church.  That was a blessing to see each one stand and give detail of what area they worked in and how many years they have been in this church!  Then Sunday morning we were picked up at 8:45 a.m. and my husband preached for the english church, taught S.S. in spanish to the adults, preached in the main service and then preached for the night service.  It was a great day!  What a blessing it was to be able to visit Montecito Baptist Church.  They have a great work here and it is obvious that Lord has really blessed this church.  I know alot of sacrifice, tears, work, and prayers have been put into this work by Pastor and Mrs. Salazar.  After getting married 32 years ago they went on their honeymoon and returned to California to start the church.  They are a great blessing to me!  It's trips like these that are an encouragment to me to keep going and to give it all I've got for the Lord!
Congratulations Pastor & Mrs. Salazar and Montecito Baptist Church!  May God give you many more years as you continue to win more souls for the Lord!

Happy 7th Anniversary to my Pastor/Husband!

Yesterday completed 7 years that my husband became the pastor of Iglesia Bautista Fundamental.
It honestly seems like we haven't been here that long.  At the time our children were 10, 12, 14 & 16 yrs. old.  So much has changed and happened not only with our family but with the church.  We almost have an empty nest!  Our youngest, Andres will be a senior in high school this fall, Danny and David are in college and our oldest, Elyssa will be having our grandbaby in about a month.  The Lord has blessed this church tremendously!  It has definetly grown, we have more s.s. classes, 2 jr. churches and have added more ministries and staff.
I am very grateful that the Lord put us here in this church!  I love my teen girls and ladies in the church so much and would do anything to help them!  They are all very special to me!  I am very thankful that they are very loving and supportive to my husband, myself and our children.
As a gift to their pastor the church collected an offering to buy a new lap top, which he desperately needs!  They also presented me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.  There was a meal after church and and an anniversary cake which we all enjoyed!
Thank you Iglesia Bautista Fundamental for 7 wonderful years!  We love you with all our hearts!
