I'm Back! (Part IV)

Andres Graduates!

This day would turn out to be a very busy but memorable day!  We started off the morning going to the school and setting up Andres' senior table.  As I was setting up his table, I was reliving memories from Andres' early years until this day.  I couldn't believe our last child was graduating.  As I was setting up, my parents were out buying the food for the reception we were going to have that night.

We then met all my family for lunch at Rosa's Cafe before we left for the airport to get our oldest son Danny, which was flying in from Kentucky for the graduation.

Starting from the left:  Andres, Nathan, my husband, Jesse, Julie, Lauren, David, Elyssa, Gabriella, Jared, my dad, my mom, me and Meagan.

We take advantage of every moment of our time together.  It's not often we can have a family reunion.  As our children get older it gets a little bit harder and harder because of their ministries and schedules.  So after we got Danny from the airport we headed to a park near by and took family pictures.  We had so much fun!

After we took our pictures we rushed back to the house/hotel to get ready for the big night, Andres' graduation.

On our way

It was a blessing that my husband was asked to preach Andres' graduation.

CONGRATULATIONS ANDRES!

Everything went so well that night!  Of course we were so proud of our son!

My husband and I have worked so hard to put our 4 children in a christian school.  It has taken a lot of financial sacrifice and giving up things.  I must say  it was well worth the sacrifice.  A christian school is not perfect and sometimes they still need to have backbone to stand up for what is right with other peers whether the school is an open school or not.  But it is far better than a public school.  I thank the Lord for providing the money for their christian education.

We love you Andres!  We look forward to greater things that are instore for you in your future!  :)

Now my wall is complete! :)

I'm back! ( Part III)

On Friday, April 27th we had our Ladies Banquet.  The theme this year was "Apples of gold in pictures of silver".  Mrs. Nellie Rodriguez from Katy, TX was our guest speaker.  She did an excellent job!  She spoke to us on our speech toward others but more importantly to our families.  Words we speak to our husbands, parents, children, brothers and sisters.
How we all need to be reminded of this time and time again.
Due to our banquet falling in the middle of our spring campaign, we had to ignore the manly look on the walls around us with fishing nets, tackle boxes, fishing poles and life jackets.  Regardless, I think it turned out pretty good.
Our tables were decorated with lime green tableclothes with large gold apples as placemats, beige lace table runners, crystal candlesticks with candles, silver platers with green apples, real green apples with tealights embeded on top, small silver streamer and silver framed verses.
Our give a way to each lady was a small card with the theme, date and a gold apple.  The girls all got pencils with apple toppers.
We had a great time and were all blessed!
 Doing some last minute preparations.

We made available 5x7 photos to the ladies.
Mrs. Heather Juarez did an excellent job in photographing and setting up a mini studio for us.

My mother-n-law-Aida Ortiz, my daughter-Elyssa Zapata, myself and our guest speaker-Mrs. Nellie Rodriguez.
We had games for all ages.....

 ...yes the ladies too!

All our little girls go home with a gift.

With the ladies, we pick names for door prizes.

This year's skit had to do with gossip!
We all had a good laugh but there sure was some truth as to how gossip spreads!

 Our guest speaker, Mrs. Rodriguez.

After a lot of work and having a successful banquet we were tired!  But what did we do?
We went to IHOP!  LOL!
As a thank you to the ladies that helped me plan and do the work for the banquet they are treated for coffee and dessert with the guest speaker.  It's a time that only they can spend with her and get to know her and ask any questions that they may have.
On the far left is Mrs. Rodriguez' sister, Ramona Anaya that was in town visiting from Mexico and of course next to her is Mrs. Rodriguez.
Thank you ladies for a job well done!  I love you!  :)

FAMILY COMES TO TOWN!

The following Wednesday, May 2nd my parents and my brother and his family arrived to be here for our son's graduation.
My husband asked my brother to preach and he did a great job!
With a very grateful heart I feel so blessed to have a husband that is a preacher, a father, my brother, our son Danny and our son-n-law Jared.

SENIOR DINNER AT THE MACARONI GRILL

The following day was our son's senior dinner.  It is where the staff and faculty of the school along with the seniors with their parents and grandparents can attend.  We had a good time getting to know other parents and talking with the staff and other seniors that are graduating also.
