Jared and Elyssa buy a house!

Last Friday Jared and Elyssa signed the papers for their new home!  They immediately began moving that same day.  All weekend with their responsibilities at work, church and bus route they were able to clean the house and get the majority of their things moved in.  Last night they completed their move and spent their first night in their new home!  We are so happy for them!  Especially because Gabriella is going to have her own room! :)

               Congratulations Jared and Elyssa!

Happy Birthday to my favorite son-n-law!!!

Today is our son-n-law, Jared's birthday!  He is 22 years old!
The Lord has given us a great son-n-law who loves the Lord and wants to serve Him!  Next month Jared will be graduating with a Pastoral Theology degree from Lone Star Baptist College in Mesquite, TX.
We are very blessed to have him in our family and are very proud of him.  He is a hard worker and has a great dedication to the Lord.
Jared, we love you and appreciate you!  Thank you for loving and taking care of our daughter and for being a great provider for her and "Gabriella"!  :)
Love,
Mom (Your favorite "mom-n-law") :D

Lunch at Abuelos

Today Dr. Young, College President of Hyles-Anderson College and his wife, treated HAC alumni to lunch today.  We had a great time!  If you notice in the picture the ladies sat together separate from the men so we could have "girl conversation".  :)  We talked about our children, grandchildren, clothes and much more!  It was a blessing for Melissa and I to have Mrs. Young all to ourselves.
Thank you Dr. and Mrs. Young for your love and prayers as we are all serving the Lord in our Texas Metroplex area.

Dr. and Mrs. Ray Young come to Texas!

Dr. Ray Young and his wife Mrs. Debbie Young were with us this weekend to kick off the first Sunday of our Spring Campaign.  We had a wonderful day!  We had 370 in attendance with 16 salvations and 4 baptisms!  Dr. Young taught my husband's Sunday School class, preached in the morning service, taught a session to our teens and preached this evening.  He was a tremendous blessing!  Mrs. Young taught the ladies in an afternoon session and did a great job!  She is always a blessing to my ladies and I!
I am grateful for all the influence they have both been to my husband and I since the day we stepped onto the campus of  Hyles-Anderson College.

Our 2011 Spring Campaign begins!

Today we began our Spring Campaign!  Our theme is "A Goal For Christ" which is a soccer theme.  It's The Eagles vs. The Lions.  We had just finished our Family Conference then got away for a few days to come back and make the decorations for the campaign.  I finished painting about an hour before we went to the airport to pick up our guest preacher and his wife, Dr. and Mrs. Ray Young.  I definetly could not have done it without God's help!  Thank you Lord for all your help! :)

Happy 23rd Birthday Elyssa!

Today is our daughter's 23rd birthday!  My how time has flown!  It seems like just yesterday that she was born!  Ever since she has been in our lives she has brought nothing but joy!  She has always obeyed and honored us.  Now she is preparing to have her own daughter.  Gabriella is due to come into our lifes on August 1st.  I've been told that being a grandparent is like having your children again except that you can send them home and not have to stay up all hours of the night!  That sounds nice since my children had their nights and days mixed up!
Elyssa, mija, I love you and I'm sooooo proud of you!  You have become a beautiful young lady, wife and now soon to be mommy! :)  I know that you will do a great job!  Always keep the Lord in the center of all your child rearing!

Love you,
Mom

"Reflecting Christ With Our Lifes"

We had our second missionary circle meeting of the year last night.  The theme was "Reflecting Christ With Our Lifes".  We decorated the room with different kinds of mirrors.  I gave a devotion on how important it is to always keep ourselves right so that we reflect Christ with our lifes.  The way we do that is to always keep ourselves in God's Word.  If not, the devil will get to us through our minds, our hearts and then it becomes an action.  After my devotion we divided into our circles and read missionary letters and prayed for them.  I am so thankful for all my ladies.  They are so dedicated and faithful in praying and supporting our missionaries.  I Love You Ladies! :)

Last but not least little people waiting for their mommies!

K.C. HERE WE COME!

After weeks of planning and long hours of work to prepare for our Family Conference, we needed a break!  All of our people worked hard but being a Pastor's wife, mother and keeping up with my normal duties at the same time was a job!  So Monday morning, April 4th  we loaded up our vehicle and headed to my home town of K.C. KS!  We love going there!  It's our place of rest!  Plus my mom and dad are there! :)  Andres was on spring break that week so we were there from Monday to Saturday.
While there we visited an Amish Village in MO.  I really enjoy visiting them.  They are very friendly people and the children are so respectful.

My birthday was last Sunday and while in KS my husband took me to the Hyatt Regency and treated me to a delicious dinner at the top of the crown.  It is a restaurant that pivits around.  The walls to the outside are all windows so you can see the city as it goes around.  It was beautiful.  What a sweet and wonderful husband I have!

Seeing a dear college friend again!

Joy Murillo & myself

On Sunday evening, Missionary Robert Murillo and his wife and children visited our church.  They are one of our missionaries that our church supports.  It was great seeing them again and what a beautiful family.  Mrs. Murillo (Joy) and I worked in one of the spanish Sunday School classes while we were in Hyles-Anderson College.  It was great to see her again.  "We Love Our Missionaries!"

Pastor & Mrs. David Cortes

Our guest preacher this year was Pastor David Cortes from Tiajuana, Mexico.  His wife Mrs. Graciela Cortes accompanied him.  What great preaching and wonderful teaching they both did in sessions last Saturday.  They were a tremendous blessing to all!  When it comes to the family, they are tops on my list to learn from.

We also invited another couple to come to our conference this year.  Bro. & Mrs. Brandon Fowler.  They did split sessions to the teens and young adults and Bro. Fowler also preached to our church on Sunday night.  What a TREMENDOUS blessing they were to us all.  "HIS MERCY ENDURETH FOREVER..."

Good Old Fashion Singing!

"Men of Faith"
The services were filled with many special music numbers.  This is one of the groups that sang.  This was in the main auditorium .  They all did a great job singing but the most handsome one is the last one on the right.  :)

Preparations for our Family Conference

Many hours were spent preparing for our Annual Family Conference.  A normal day for the past two weeks consisted of 12 hours a day.  We were tired, but the time put in was worth every moment.  I decorated both buildings with our theme, "Returning To Our First Love".  ("Volviendo A Nuestro Primer Amor")  A large red glittered heart which by the way everyone seemed to have at least one speck of glitter on them by the time the conference was over, and four sillouttes with the Bible, a bride & groom, a father & child and the family.

My office became an art room.

Decorations up in our auditorium.
The decorations in the main auditorium can be viewed in the pictures to follow.
