Fall Festival 2012

Once again our church held it's yearly fall festival in October.  We do this every year to help raise money for our future church building.  It is also a fun time for all the children of our church.  They are able to play games, win prizes and eat lots of different foods and snacks.  We have a great time while at the same time helping our church building fund.

Making homemade carmel candy apples for the festival.  Yummmy!  :)

Having a good time!

Greensboro, NC

The week of October 22nd - 26th my husband and I went to Greensboro, NC.  I love going to NC this time of the year!  Since fall comes late for us in Texas I can enjoy it in North Carolina!  :)
My husband preached a Monday through Wednesday conference for Pastor Albert Lopez, pastor of Iglesia Bautista Puerta Abierta.  The emphesis was on the Holy Spirit.  On Tuesday & Wednesday they scheduled classes to be taught.  I got to teach the ladies both days on "Woman, the Holy Spirit of the home" and "Christmas, 365 days of the year".  They had a great turn out in the day sessions and in the evening services.  The whole conference was a great blessing to us as well.  They have wonderful people that love the Lord!
On Thursday and Friday, the pastor and his family took my husband and I to Gatlinburg, TN!  Needless to say, we loved it!  It was such a beautiful drive and beautiful scenery everywhere you looked!  What a treat!  Friday of that week being my husband's birthday was the main reason for this mini-get a way.  He had a great time!  :)  Thank you Lopez Family!  :)

We had a wonderful time!

A Time To Be Thankful!

On October 19th we had our last ladies missionary circle meeting of the year.  What a sweet time we had in that meeting.  The emphesis was to be thankful for all that we have.  The room was decorated with many fall decorations.  Pumpkins, leaves, scarecrows, fall flower decorations with a nice fall scented candle burning.  I asked each of my 8 circle leaders to share what they are thankful for.  It was such a blessing to hear each of the things they shared.  Along with sharing through words as they gave thanks I asked them to also bring a visual aide to show.
Practically each one gave thanks for the family God gave them.  Especially now that they are saved, have Christian homes and are serving the Lord!  Another gave thanks for the 16 years God has given her daughter.  When she was born she had many health issues that didn't give her much time to live.  One showed us her Bible that she had for many years and was thankful for God's word and another lady was thankful for the beauty in scenery that we see everyday.  Much more was said and shared but this is just an idea.
A lot of times we don't realize how grateful and thankful we should be until we don't have it anymore!  Our health, our homes, running water, heat, a job, our family, our church where we can attend without any problems, our Bible, the freedom to witness to someone, to be able to walk, and so much more!  We have been given so much from the Lord!  Why not this Thanksgiving season give extra thanks as we should everyday but also take some time out of the busy day of Thanksgiving and share with your family things you are thankful for.  Let's make it a special day!  :)

*I am not sure how this happened but all the pictures except these 2 were deleted.  :(

Men's Retreat 2012

October 11th, 12th & 13th our church held it's yearly Men's Retreat.  This year's speaker was Pastor David Cortes from Tijuana, Mexico.  We had a great turnout in attendance this year.  We had testimonies in our church service Sunday night and there were so many wonderful testimonies on how the Lord used Pastor Cortes.  My husband was so pleased and blessed that he asked him to come back next year for the retreat.

Stronger husbands & dads = stronger families = stronger churches!

Harvest of Souls

We had our Fall Campaign the whole month of October!  Every year we invite Dr. & Mrs. Wendell Evans to be with us.  We always enjoy having them and what a blessing they are to our people!
We are very grateful to be able to still learn from the life of Dr. Evans and now his wife Elaine.  They have both been an inspiration to keep on serving the Lord and to give the Lord our best!

PANAMA

On September 17th - 25th, I had the priviledge of going to Panama with my husband.  I had a great time!  We were able to be in 4 different churches and a 5th church that held a teen rally plus we were able to visit an orphanage.  We were very busy on this trip but it was a tremendous blessing!  A lot of our missionary wifes are not able to travel to the states and be with us in our church like their husbands do so it is extra special when I can go to where they live and meet them.  We were able to see 4 of our missionaries.  :)  Also while we were there we were able to do a little sight seeing.

We started off by attending church with our missionary, Pastor Arnulfo Olivo.
While there my husband preached a conference on Monday and Tuesday.
